Description

SEWN (rows of stitching 1/8" apart) Sisal is the strong tough fiber of the agave plant and is imported from Yucatan, Mexico. The sisal is formed into twisted strands and then woven into a coarse heavy cloth. The cloth is then cut into disks, with the disks stacked to obtain the desired thickness (each turned slightly to assure even wear) and sewn together in 1/8" rows. The sisal buff is used with a coarse grease based compound for cutting operations. Since sisal does not hold compound well, it must be applied frequently. Sisal is also used with a finer grease compound for blending operations prior to polishing.
